I have always been attracted to the idea that food brings us together and heals us–emotionally and physically. Because of this, I’ve spent most of my working life in food as a nutritionist, health coach, leading cooking classes, as a caterer, server, and restaurant manager. I love being a part of and learning about people’s food traditions – family recipes, mealtime traditions, and I love the ways that sharing a meal with friends and loved ones brings people so much enjoyment.
As wonderful and fundamental as food is, however, it can also be a source of pain and confusion. Why am I eating healthily and still not able to lose weight? Why am I exhausted all day but can’t fall asleep at night? Why do I have these uncontrollable cravings? Why is it so difficult to know what to eat? Why is it so hard for me to make healthier food choices? My work is to help people move through this pain and confusion to find balance, health, and happiness with food.
